Chi-town!

The view outside of City Year headquarters.

So it’s official, I live in Chicago!

Yesterday we started the City Year process with registration. It was a day of trying on uniforms, filling out paperwork, meeting senior corps members, and getting most of the details worked out. It’s looking like I’ll be making a meager wage and living on food stamps for the next year, but the program is really fantastic and I’m really excited to start working! The people I’ve met so far are wonderful, last night a group of us City Year folk went out. It was nice to meet people (beyond my roommates, that is) who are going to be experiencing the same stressors and successes as I will be. It’s also cool to be meeting people from all over the country who want to be in Chicago for a variety of reasons.

I’m excited for this new adventure, I miss the hell out of all of you though.
